The fifth annual Timber Ridge Open was contested on April 10, 2010.  The TRO was a PDGA sanctioned C-tier and was also a Golden Ticket and ODDS event. Timber Ridge is a private, seasonal eighteen hole course near Bedford.  The weather was sunny and breezy at times.  All played from the yellow tees, except for the Open and Masters, who played their second round from the blue tees.

Rene DeVito of Staunton won the Open division for his first PDGA victory.  He held of Ian Liddell of Woodbridge and James Conrad of Blacksburg by one stroke.  He also won his first career Golden Ticket.  Rene's victory continued a tradition of first time winners in the TRO.  Adam Vanderslice (2006), Tony Ellis (2007), and Dwight Woods (2009) also notched their first PDGA Open victory at the farm.

In the Masters division, Jim Conrad of Blackburg held off Tim Barr from Kingsport, TN by just one stroke.  Jim had a hole-in-one on hole six during the first round.  He carded a 56 from the blue tees in the second round, one stroke shy of the tournament course record.  He earned the Masters Golden Ticket with his efforts.

Dee Proffitt won the Advanced Ladies division by seven strokes over runner-up Wendy Boettcher.  Dee's day included an impressive 69 from the yellow tees in the first round.  Dee defended her win in the 2009 TRO and earned  the Ladies Golden Ticket.

Daniel Eubank won the Advanced division and a 2010 Golden Ticket.  Dave Wert won the Advanced Masters division, while Brad Smith dominated the Intermediate division

The Golden Ticket 2010 series is comprised of six PDGA tournaments and culminates at the Blue Ridge Invitational in Bedford on November 7th.

There are four divisions this year—Open, Masters, Ladies, and Advanced.  The winner of each of these divisions at each tournament earns a Golden Ticket invitation to the prestigious BRI.  If the winner of the division has already earned a Golden Ticket, then the invitation will be passed down to the second place finisher.  Ties will be broken in a sudden death playoff.
